Oblivious

by Jim Nutting

When you talk about gas prices, immigration reform, Iraq or even Hollywood personalities, the average American can engage in an in-depth discussion.  Why not? It’s a part of the American lifestyle and interests.  Next Tuesday Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will attempt to con the US Congress out of $10 billion for his surrender plan.  I could just imagine our congressmen explaining this spending to their constituents as the average American is now paying almost $3.50 per gallon at the gas pumps.  $10 billion is almost as much money as the government would pay for the new proposed southern border fence and the hiring of more Border Patrol Agents.  Olmert is delusional if he thinks he could squeeze a dime out of the US for his Israeli destruction project.  If you ask the average American how they feel about the Olmert plan, they are completely oblivious.  Not because of ignorance but because the USA has problems and concerns of its own.  Olmert may just use his visit to introduce himself to President Bush and Congress.  He’ll probably use it as a photo-op to show himself off while shaking hands with well known US politicians.  Many of these politicians will most likely express their support of Israel.  This will be a great opportunity for Olmert to sell his surrender plan to other countries and institutions.  “You see how much support we have from the United States?”

That’s why on Tuesday, May 23 rd, the B’nai Elim will be in Washington DC, protesting and telling the American people that “Israel is not for ransom and not for sale!”  Congressmen will hear these words and should not give Olmert the opportunity to sell out the land of Israel.  Congress should not give Olmert the ‘hand-shake’ photo-op.  If the majority of the American public knew that support of this evil plan would probably result in the eventual shrinking of the Jewish state to the size if a shopping mall, they would write off Olmert as a coward for peace and those Israelis that put him in office as brain damaged.  To the American public, this topic won’t even rise above Hollywood insider news.  $10 billion? What a joke.  If Olmert has the nerve to beg for this hand-out, maybe he should think about a new career as a stand up comic.

Americans Kidnapped and Taken to Mexico. Is This the Middle East?

By Jim Nutting

Last week an American businessman from Imperial Beach California, a small San Diego beach community that borders the Las Playas Tijuana  Mexico, was kidnapped and taken over the border to a small Tijuana community called Cerro Colorado.  The kidnapped businessman was able to escape from his abductors.  In another kidnapping, another businessman was abducted from his home in Bonita California by two men disguised as police officers.  Bonita is a neighboring community of Chula Vista and not far from Imperial Beach.

According to an article written in the San Diego Union Tribune, police investigate incidents on the U.S. side of the border where people are threatened with kidnapping if they don't wire money to Mexico. Some kidnapping cases include tourists being kidnapped in Tijuana and taken to an ATM where they are forced to withdraw money and give it to the kidnappers before they are released. Other kidnapping cases go on for days with the suspects demanding thousands of dollars. René Jiménez Ornelas, who tracks kidnappings at Mexico's National Autonomous University (UNAM), told media officials in 2004 that he estimated there are around 3,000 kidnappings a year.  This is reminiscent of kidnappings in the Middle East where Islamo-Fascists in the Palestinian Arab occupied Israeli Gaza Strip and in Iraq routinely kidnap non-Muslims.

Though two men were recently arrested by Mexican authorities, I don’t feel comfortable.  It’s not uncommon for Mexican police to arrest people and have them confess to a crime under torturous interrogations.

I personally believe that there are many people serving time in Mexican prisons who never committed the crimes they were arrested for.  These arrests by Mexican authorities cater to the ignorance of the American public.  These are the same Americans who spend millions of dollars per year on vacations in Mexico.

There were two kidnappings this month of American businessmen in Tijuana.  Who knows what the demands were or if they were paid.  In Mexico City Kidnappings is a way of life and have been for years.  In Mexico ‘kidnapping insurance’ is available.  Tell me that isn’t a scam.  I’m sure there are Mexican police and other government officials in on this scheme as they are involved in many other criminal activities.

According to Associated Press, U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Tony Garza vowed to pressure the Mexican government relentlessly until it finds 22 Americans who are missing in the violence wracked border city of Nuevo Laredo.  22?  Come on now, this should have been nationwide news.  We as Americans should be marching and protesting through the streets of large Mexican cities carrying American flags and demanding that the Mexican government immediately stop this type of injustice.  Well, that won’t happen.  The minute we fly the American flag in protest, the Mexican government will deploy their rusty old tanks and under-trained military troops.  It would be a blood bath.  Of course, freedom of speech in Mexico is very limited.

Most Americans have no idea the level of prejudice there is against us in Mexico.  Most Americans who vacation in Mexico will never give up their cheap and convenient trips.  They actually believe that they are safe down there.  They see police down there as real officers of the law.  What a joke. Being a cop in Mexico is one of the lowest paying jobs.  The only reason someone becomes a cop down there is for the chance to get “mordida” (bite or payoff).  That goes for many other government positions down there as well.

Mexico is a beautiful country rich in natural resources and a wonderful climate.  Mexico has the potential to be one of the richest countries in the world.  The problem is the weak citizenship that will never stand up to their oppressive and corrupt government.   They have no revolutionary leader.  The country is controlled by a few elitists and drug lords.  The war on kidnapping by the Mexican government is a farce.  Any American spending their hard earned money in Mexico is in my opinion, fool.  Until the kidnapping stops, we should take our vacations on our side of the border.  I believe that all vehicle and foot traffic into Mexico should be inspected by our law enforcement agencies.  This should stop the transporting of abductees into Mexico.  Mexico does have their own border inspection but again, it’s a joke.  They only look for items on a list that require a tax before bring them in.  They too are on the take.

We the American people ask the Mexican government to help us with our border crisis.  We’re asking the same Mexican government officials who issue guides on illegal crossing survival to help us.  Wake up my fellow Americans!  That will never happen.  There have been many Tijuana and Baja California Norte Mexico Police involved in the human smuggling business, also known as ‘coyotes’.

As some of my readers have read, I don’t believe our nation could round-up the millions of illegal aliens in our country.  I do however believe it is a felony to cross our borders illegally.  I don’t believe in amnesty, however, I do believe that paying a fine for their crime would be the best option.  This would not be a bonus of gift to the illegal trespassers.  I also believe in a six year period where they could live and work here.  Of course with strict provisions and the temporary loss of their forth amendment rights.

I strongly believe in a large fence at both our northern and southern borders.  Trespassers will have a much harder time crossing, thus giving our Customs and Immigrations a chance to catch up on the backlog of visa and citizenship applications and investigations.

The Government screwed up immigration; it’s time for America’s ideas

by Jim Nutting

According to the Voz de Aztlan’s Ernest Cienfuegos, a pro-immigration coalition who organized a protest march of 700,000 people on Los Angeles will be implementing their next “mass action”.  Cienfuegos says that there will be a large boycott in protest of what he calls a “racist” proposed bill (HR4437).  Cienfuegos claims that the boycott has international support and will paralyze the US economy.  According to Cienfuegos, a coalition summit will meet in Phoenix Arizona on April 8th and 9th.  The summit named "international economic and labor boycott" will be planning what they call “Day of the International Solidarity of Workers”.  The Day of the International Solidarity of Workers will be held between May 1st and 5th.   It will end with a big “fiesta” on Cinco de Mayo.

The coalition is depending on help from other Latin American countries.  Until the proposed boycott, they will continue to entice children in need of an education to skip classes and take to the streets.  Many of these young protesters don’t even know why they’re marching. All I hear from these young people is “La Raza” and many are carrying signs denouncing the USA.  I’m sure that there are many student protesters who really believe in their protest cause.  I’m also sure they are marching after school and on the weekends.  I believe in free speech and standing up for what you believe in, providing you really know what you believe in.  Flying the Mexican flag over an upside-down American flag is showing the American Citizenry that immigration from Mexico is a way to impose their Mexican nationalism into the USA.  It shows that when immigrated, they believe in Mexico first.  They show that they refuse to assimilate into America.

Mexico has a corrupt government.  So corrupt that it will probably never change.  Citizens will never be able to stand up to it.  Can you try to imagine American residents in Mexico protesting and marching with American flags?  Their pathetic army with its hand-me-down tanks and US donated Hummers would probably shoot the protesters.  But that’s okay, that’s their rules.  Could you imagine Americans sneaking over into Mexico for free medical care?  How many Americans choose to have their children born in Mexico so that they could become Mexican citizens? A boycott on Mexico wouldn’t affect the Mexican people because they’re oppressed anyway.  It would only hurt the government leaders and a handful of rich criminals working with them.  So it’s okay to do these things here in the USA?  How selfish of us to protect our borders even after 9/11.  We owe it to them because they will do the jobs that Americans won’t.  Think about it, if we forced able-bodied American welfare recipients to take those jobs or go hungry, the recipients would have to give up their subsidized housing and monthly checks.  My feeling on the issue is this; our government will never be able to round up all the illegals in the country now.  It would drain us financially.

We don’t have enough law enforcement, federal or state to accomplish the impossible task.  I believe the crime of entering the US illegally is a felony.  What a joke to think otherwise.  If an American was to cross into Mexico and sneak back into the US illegally he would probably be charged with a felony.  That’s the law and that’s why we have border enforcement.  When Operation Gate Keeper was set into place in San Diego, there was a drop in illegal border crossings from San Ysidro to the east county.  Of course some slipped through a few weak spots at the crossing and tunnels, but there was a decrease.  Unfortunately some illegal crossings are done further east and in the desert.  Those that crossed in the desert and sadly lost their lives could only blame the corrupt and criminal Mexican government.  We need to expand the border fence and build another one at our northern border.  If a country like Mexico, so rich in natural resources and tourism can’t feed their people and create a stable economy, that’s not America’s fault.  We should not bear the burden.  So they feloniously cross any way they can and at any risk.  They establish themselves here and look for work.  We allowed it to happen and it’s way too late to send them all back.  If anyone thinks that employer sanctions would work, they are delusional.  That would cripple our strained economy more than we could imagine.  The only other option is to give all those here an opportunity to turn themselves in.  They in turn admit to their felonious illegal entry and pay a $2,000 fine.  Charitable and other non-governmental agencies help them pay for a separately charged background investigation and physical examination.  Hell, Cienfuegos and the slime pushers at the Voz de Aztlan could help and kick in a few bucks.  This is so the American taxpayer doesn’t get stuck with the bill.

The applicant should have to prove employment and residence. If the employer believes the employee is valuable enough to them, they could pay toward the applicant’s fine.  The applicant gets finger printed and DNA is taken.  As felons, they lose their fourth amendment rights to search and seizure until the felony probation has terminated.  They are then given very temporary status until the background and physicals are complete.  They are then given photo ID cards that are counterfeit proof.  They can live and work among us.  If they are involved in un-American activity or commit a separate felony or violent misdemeanor, they are immediately deported and never able to return.  This term of probation for the crossing felony should be for six years.  They are not eligible for government aid.  If within the six years they could assimilate into America and speak English. The applicants should have the right to become American citizens.  The felony is expunged.  They have paid for their felony in full.

Anyone caught in the USA during this period should be considered a criminal and turned over to the Department of Homeland Security.  There should be no reason to not have legal documentation.  I also believe that when any American crosses our borders or returns from a foreign country, they should have a passport.  This is not a national ID because you wouldn’t be obligated to have one if you don’t leave the country.  I really believe plans as simple as mine would work.  There are many.  I don’t believe in any guest worker plan or amnesty.  If a crime is committed, the violator pays.  It’s not a Democrat or Republican issue.  It’s a crisis and the government proved it couldn’t handle it.  Now it’s time for our citizens to throw out some ideas.

It is a felony

by Jim Nutting

Why the big fight in congress?  If I as an American born citizen were to cross into Mexico and sneak back into the USA illegally, I could and should be charged with a felony.  We have borders and federal agents to manage and enforce them.  Sure it's my country, but for security reasons the proper gates of entry are necessary, post 9/11 especially.

Any American citizen would agree that if we were living in a repressive and corrupt third world country and our families were near starving, we would probably flea to a country where we could work and send money back to our families.  But that isn't likely because we live in a country where we as citizens have a representative government.  Though not perfect, there is transparency, Randy Duke Cunningham for instance, caught using his position to line his pockets and hurting his constituents, was charged and found guilty.  He will be spending time in prison.  Unlike Mexico, where that practice in government is common.

If we as Americans illegally entered another country, we would be committing a crime.  We would also be bringing our cultural behavior with us.  That is what we were taught all of our lives.  We would be speaking English.  It would be hard for us to assimilate into the new culture and language.  We would be working under the table or using fake documents to get better jobs.  We would also be paid less than the citizens of the country in which we had illegally invaded.  When we get sick, we would either die or find a way to obtain medical treatment any way we could.  This would drain the host country.  We are humans  and will fight for our survival.  But with all of this said, we would be criminals in the country we illegally entered.  We would be aliens.  This is the USA and this scenario is unlikely.

We stood up to our oppressors in the revolutionary war.  Mexico and many other third world countries don't have the same transparency in their government.  The ones who try to expose the corruption are either threatened or pushing up daisies.

No matter how much money we as Americans spend vacationing, touring and shopping in Mexico, the employees of the hotels, restaurants, and shops are getting paid much less than they deserve.  Safety and security is pathetic.  Police are, and have been paid so little that they use their positions of authority

and end up playing judge and jury on the field.  Taking mordida (bite or bribe) for minor infractions or serious crimes from violators is common place, as are payoffs for other government services.  Is this a country that we could trust to open our borders with?

The illegal drug importation is another problem.  Supply and demand is what drives the continued corruption in Mexico and other third world corrupt countries.  This is unfortunately our fault.  Our country is the largest importer of illegal drugs in the world.  That's due to the liberal drug laws here in America.  We could not in clear conscience blame only illegal aliens for this crisis.  Our drug laws need to be tightened.  I'm tired of the whiners complaining of the lack of prison space in the United States to be able to enforce severe drug laws.  We have plenty f desert space available.  They also whine that we couldn't afford to pay for it.  Well, to those idiots, I say 'discontinue the war on drugs'.  The billions we spend on that failure would be more than enough to open drug prisons nation-wide.  I also believe in rehabilitation, only while incarcerated.  I also believe in prison work crews.  Oh my goodness, guess what? The prisoners could do the work that we claim the illegal aliens could only do.  And here's another surprise, so could healthy and fit welfare recipients.  This should be rehabilitation for all of them.  The prisoners and the lazy and physically fit welfare recipients would have no other choice but to work.  Eventually, they will want to get off their butts and find better job.

Getting back to the felonies committed by illegal aliens or falsely documented illegal trespassers or what ever term satisfies our loony left.  If any American citizen would be charged, and in most cases punished for entering his or her own country illegally, so should the millions of illegal aliens or falsely documented illegal trespassers as well as their employers be charged and punished.

Charging a legal resident, naturalized or born American citizen family members or clergy for offering comfort to illegal trespassers would be sending a horrible message.  That is unless they are charged for helping them get into America illegally.

There are millions of illegal trespassers, not just Mexican or Latin Americans but Islamic middle easterners and Europeans living and working in America.  Most are getting paid minimum or below minimum wage.  There are some here in industries like construction who get paid pretty good.  Others are involved in criminal activity like drug or human smuggling.  Some have been able to open up legitimate businesses.  Many are sucking up taxpayer money in local jails, state and federal prisons.  Some are probably working with terrorist groups planning the destruction of the USA.

The reality is, we could never round all them up.  Employer sanctions would create an unbelievable workload for law enforcement.  It would be too costly and the government wouldn't recover enough money from the employer sanctions.  I believe there is a simpler answer.

Give all illegal trespassers and employers an opportunity to pay a fine for their felony.  I would give a ballpark figure of $2000.  Give them a reasonable amount of time to pay the fine, trespassers should obtain a letter from their employer and live-scan finger prints.  Pass an intense background investigation, operated by, but not paid for by local of federal governments.  This background check should be paid for by private pro-immigrant groups, non governmental organizations (NGO's) or the applicant themselves.  Applicants should be actively employed and clear the background check.  They as felons, should waive their fourth amendment rights of search and seizure.  Their addresses and place of employment should be registered and current.  As felons employers should be subject to workplace inspection.  Immigration agents should be able to follow up on employers activities.

This felony should be limited to five years.  After the five years the felony is expunged from both the applicant and the employer, providing they pass the program and show they were productive members of our society.  Within the five years the applicant should learn the natural American language of English and study for a newer and stricter citizenship exam and become American citizens.  Otherwise, when the five years is up the applicants are required to return to their country of origin.  Those applicants who qualify and serve in the United States Armed forces should be able to expedite their citizenship.  All applicants should be required to carry their temporary permission card.  They should have the same rights to apply and obtain employment.  They should be paid the legal wage and not be discriminated against because they are on temporary status.  Applicants will be taxed the same as citizens. However, when in the application process, employers have the right to employ the citizen first unless the applicant is more qualified.  No born or naturalized American citizen should be deprived of first choice if more qualified. There should be no quota system.

All applicants whose applications are disqualified, or do not follow through with the program should be incarcerated and deported back to their country of origin.  Any applicant who commits a crime should be immediately incarcerated and sent back to their Country of origin.  Any applicant involved in any anti-American protest or activity should be incarcerated and deported.  They are only guests and will be considered as anti-American in these cases.  During this program, the United States Military is stationed at our southern and northern borders along with the Border Patrol.  The security fence is built. The fines obtained from the applicants and employers by the federal government will go to border enforcement.  Continued violations by employers should be enforced and the business and assets should be seized by the federal government and the employer should be incarcerated.

Anyone counterfeiting or possessing state or federal documents such as Social Security Cards, state identification cards or driver licenses and birth certificates should receive the strongest penalty the courts could impose on them.   The practice of foreign governments issuing consulate matricular  identification cards should stop immediately.

With the above plan, any trespasser not in compliance should be investigated by the Department of Homeland Defense.  There is no other reason to remain undocumented unless they are probable criminals or potential terrorists.

After the border security fence is in place and patrolled by the Military and Border Patrol, any invader is arrested and not qualified for the program.  They are charged and tried for a felony.  No free ticket.  Any child born in the USA to an illegal trespasser not in the application process, will not be given citizen status.  However, any child born here while the mother is an applicant will have the status of the mother without the requirements necessary after the five year program ends.

I believe the above idea would be humane and fair to both US citizens and immigrants.  I believe it will make it easier to track down potential foreign terrorists.  I believe by toughening our drug laws here in the USA won't stop our drug problem, but if there are enough arrests for minor drug possession, this may slow down the supply and demand.  I think drug rehabilitation will become a big business.  The importation of drugs coming in on ships and planes are another problem to address.

Which Way Do You Turn?

by Jim Nutting
jimnutting@gmail.com

Which way do you turn? You’re told that child sexual predators are more often found closer to home. So you keep your guard up. You hear more now than ever that a child has been abducted and the Amber alerts are activated. So you keep your guard up. Again and again there is a member of society like teachers and the clergy who have been arrested for child molestation or child pornography. Megan’s law, Jessica’s law and the Amber alert, where does it end? Family members and friends are suspect as is anyone you believe should be trusted to be with a child.

Accused pedophiles like Michael Jackson are protected by society. Who do you trust with your children and grandchildren? We have now seen most vicious creature come out of the darkness, Wayne Albert Bleyle, a 54 year old respiratory therapist at a the San Diego Children's Hospital convalescent center has been arrested for countless charges of child molestation as well as possessing and distributing child pornography. The most vulnerable children possible were violated by this creature. Some of the child victims have already passed away from their illnesses. It’s sad enough that they were critically ill or suffering. What little was left of their lives was made worse. I’m not going to go any further into the crimes. I’m a grandfather, and I’m not afraid to say what I feel. Does this not warrant the death penalty? If you’re a parent who opposes the death penalty, does this even make you think twice? Do creatures like this deserve to breathe the same air as our children? I’m not confident in the justice system regarding child molesters as long as rehabilitation is on the table. There is no way trolls like these should ever be allowed freedom. There is no cure.

There should be some examples set. If potential child molesters see that the punishment for their crimes will be fatal and painful, they would creep back into their holes. There would be no need for Megan’s law. They don’t put these trolls in the prison general population; they are put in protective custody. We the people flip the bill, which adds insult to injury. When they are released, they wear an electronic tracking device. This is supposed to keep our children safe and make us feel more at ease? I don’t think so. I guess there are some that feel sorry for Bleyle. They are pondering the root cause of his sickness and the type of rehabilitation they think he deserves. I’m sorry, but I ponder the type of execution a child rapist gets and whether it is painful enough. In cases like these, the punishment should fit the crime.

I don’t condone vigilantism, I just expect our judges to think like parents or grandparents and rule as tough as possible. This isn’t a political party issue, it’s a family issue. Vermont District Judge Edward Cashman obviously wasn’t thinking of family when he imposed a 60 day sentence on a child rapist. The court showed how pathetic the Vermont justice system was when Cashman increased the sentence to three to 10 years. This should be satisfactory? I don’t think so. Just as many of you, I can think of so many ways to deal with this issue, but there is a powerful minority who would object. It makes me think they must have some sick motive. They are the same people who see nothing wrong with Michael Jackson sleeping in the same bed with his child guests at Never Land Ranch.
